EDUCATION AT THE HEART OF A LONDON MASTERPLAN
Regenerating a thriving London community with the facilities and amenities it needs, the Britannia Project delivers new housing and new school places to anticipate the requirements of its expanding population.
The City of London Academy Shoreditch Park is the first building to be completed in this community focused scheme. With an aim to provide a life-changing environment that encourages and supports all of its students to achieve excellent educational outcomes whatever their individual ability, needs or background, the building has already had a significant impact on student academic attainment.
AN EXCEPTIONAL PLACE TO LIVE
Our masterplan for the 3.2 ha site in East London aspires to create a welcoming, interconnected and tenure-blind neighbourhood, that addresses the unique needs of its residents.
A cohesive family of buildings, together will form a coherent and harmonious addition to the existing neighbourhood. The development will forge new links with Shoreditch Park to the south and the Colville Estate to the north, providing better community facilities and high-quality public realm for existing and new residents, where everyone can gather, play and find respite in a safe environment.
The project proposes to redevelop the existing Britannia Leisure Centre site to create 395 new homes, of which 81 are affordable, a new secondary school for 900 local students plus a 200 student sixth form, and to re-provide a leisure centre with new and improved facilities.
