Reconnecting with nature for a regenerative future
Dundee Gasworks is being reimagined and recreated through the regenerative power of nature as Eden Earthworks, a place to explore how we can learn from and reconnect with nature to achieve a regenerative future for people and planet.
The brownfield docklands site and its former gasholder will be embedded within a landscape and reconnected to the city via a new pedestrian bridge. Through a world of immersive and interactive experiences, the venues will encourage visitors to think, feel and act differently by revealing how we can learn from and be inspired by nature.
A world-class project which will deliver hundreds of jobs, huge visitor numbers and tens of millions of pounds into the local economy. And it’s so much more than that too, with tremendous opportunities for education, inspiration and connecting our diverse communities.

REGENERATION from the core
From a disused gas works in Dundee’s docklands will grow connected communities. It draws on the city's history and spirit to underpin Dundee's continuing regeneration and act as a catalyst for further connections.
Following Eden's Regenerative Charter, our collaborative design will start to restore the site through a resilient scheme that restores biodiversity to the site, reusing existing materials to create an immersive pedagogic facility. Building a regenerative future requires a commitment to positive transformation and Eden Project Dundee aims to show how this shift in perspective can become a reality.
CO-CREATION
Eden Project Dundee extends beyond the boundaries of the site. Through a new collective of Guilds - drawing on the history of Dundee's Nine Incorporated Trades and Three United Trades - it will connect to the community across the city. The Guilds will not be specialisms, but rather interconnections, and their unique perspectives will reflect the values and actions needed for a regenerative future.
Projects across Dundee - including 14 hectares of wildflower meadows across the city - have already been realised, as well as an extensive and engaged consultation process that will feed into the submission of a planning application. The city of Dundee has been invited to help shape the planning application and act as a co-creator of Eden Project Dundee.
