A NEW SUSTAINABLE NEIGHBOURHOOD IN THE HEART OF CAMDEN
The Camley Street regeneration project forms part of Camden’s ‘Community Investment Programme’ which is London Borough of Camden’s ambitious 15-year plan to invest over £2.3 billion in schools, homes and community facilities in Camden.
The vision for Camley Street is to create a new truly mixed-use community providing 350 homes (including genuinely affordable homes), 20,000 sqm of mixed-use employment space with a focus on Life Sciences and diverse affordable employment space from creative makers to light industrial users creating jobs, training and skills for local residents.
The new masterplan vision will deliver an improved public realm, with green open spaces and places for play integrated with the existing neighbourhoods and communities.
We want to see Camley Street become a place where our residents can access new employment opportunities... where they can live in brand new affordable and high-quality homes, and where children have access to new green spaces.
Cllr Danny Beales, Cabinet Member for Investing in Communities, Culture and an Inclusive Economy, London Borough of Camden
A COMMUNITY VOICE FOR THE FUTURE
Ambitious plans for the area will unlock opportunities for residents to access the cutting edge of what our borough has to offer, helping realise Camden 2025 goals of making the borough a place for everyone and where no one gets left behind.
We have been collaborating with the Camley Street Steering Group, a group of local residents and businesses, community organisations and local institutions so that local people have a strong voice in the future of the area and we can deliver the best possible outcome for the area.
