Social Value Award for Kirklees Cultural Heart

We are delighted to announce that our client Kirklees Council has been awarded the ‘Social Value - Local Government Award’ at The Government Opportunities (GO) Excellence in Public Procurement Awards.
FCBStudios have been working with Kirklees Council to develop Kirklees Cultural Heart, the flagship project of the Huddersfield Blueprint, a ten-year vision to redevelop six key areas of Huddersfield town centre, to create a vibrant, family-friendly, modern and accessible destination, underpinned by cultural activity.
During the development of the project FCBS produced a large piece of social value work including curating an exhibition entitled 'Of Time and Place'. A physical and visual expression of what makes Huddersfield and the surrounding area unique, combining curated hands-on activities, archive material, community-led content and commissioned pieces.
Our work also included offering work experience placements, volunteering at local events and festivals, creative family focussed and accessible consultation workshops, archiving architectural research and materials relating to local listed buildings, student competition and mentoring with Huddersfield University, and then the exhibition.
