Shortlisted for BD Higher Education Architect of the Year
02 August 2023
FCBStudios has been selected as a finalist in the Higher Education Architect of the Year category at the Building Design, Architect of the Year Awards 2023.
FCBStudios work is progressive, innovative, and challenging. It is founded on principles of sustainability and low carbon; of wellbeing and inclusivity, of emerging technologies, academic excellence, and an enriched student experience. In this we align with the ethos and mission of our Higher Education clients.
Recently completed, Ulster University Belfast Campus is a socio-economic driver for the city. Designed to accommodate widening access to higher education and improve social equity, the transformative power of this project is already evident in the regeneration taking place around the area.
Temple Quarter Enterprise Campus also represents a major engagement with the city of Bristol. Designed as a dedicated space for collaboration and discovery where businesses, civic partners and the community can work together with the University’s students, academics, and researchers.
For the University of Portsmouth's New Academic Building, a careful balance of environmental, economic and social aspirations has driven its form and function. At the intersection of city and university, it will act as a new front door to the university, that is open to all.
The extension and refurbishment of the 1979 Babbage Building for The University of Plymouth's Design and Engineering facility, puts our sustainability agenda and creative reuse experience at the core and will act as a western gateway at the threshold of the university and the city.
Winners will be announced at the Awards ceremony taking place on Tuesday, 17th October, 2023.
